The Topshop SS18 Denim Launch

The main thing that stands out about the Topshop brand is their denim range. For as long as I can remember Topshop have had a great collection of denim jeans and pieces that are high quality yet affordable. But, for the first time, Topshop and Topman have come together for a new season campaign. The SS18 dual-branded shoot is centred on fresh-in denim, and despite the brands being siblings, it marks their joint unveiling.
I was kindly invited into my local Topshop store in York to check out the new range of jeans and try a few pairs on to decide what was my perfect style. Along with the joint spring campaign, Topshop announced the launch of three new denim fits to sit alongside your trusty Jamies, Baxters and Leighs. *cue Ciandra getting really excited!*

The new styles are;

The New Boyfriend, a mid-rise loose-fitting straight-legged pair which sit at the ankle and are the perfect compromise between sophisticated and relaxed styles. I’d pair this style with a crisp white shirt and some black loafers.

Next up is the Wide Leg jeans, which feature a super flattering high waist, come in non-stretch denim, and fit wide throughout the leg. Style this pair up with a super ‘70s look by tucking in a printer pussy bow blouse.

The newness doesn’t stop there though! Jean shopping in the past for me has been nothing short of a nightmare. The sizes change between stores, the lighting in dressing rooms is never flattering, and I can never find the right size! Women who are odd sizes just like me will finally be able to find the jean size that fits just right, thanks to the British retailer’s sizing of the future. These new Topshop jeans will now be made in half sizes, which will be offered in two washes, blue or black.
According to the Topshop website, the half sizes are available in sizes W25, W27, W29 and W31, and for the styles Jamie, Joni, Mom, Straight, Jamie Flare, and crop.

All styles are available online, have a browse! All styles are relatively inexpensive too, with prices starting at £36. With jeans that now actually fit, I might not always choose my trusty black leggings over denim. Let’s hope all designers follow in Topshop’s lead.

What’s your favourite pair of Topshop jeans, I’d love to find out!

Love Ciandra x
