Autumn Is Approaching – OOTD
Long time no speak and I do apologise for that. I have been very busy as I have just moved house and started a new job in York. Blogging hasn’t really crossed my mind, but today I did a shoot with a close photographer friend Alex* and thought it was the perfect opportunity to start writing again.
Sunday mornings for me are a way to explore and have fun. A new season is approaching which means my autumn wardrobe is slowly making an appearance. I get the train early Sunday morning from York Station after I briskly walked from my apartment (I’m always late!!) in a bright mustard yellow jacket and headed to Manchester. After a short walk from the station I am greeted by Alex who is standing outside The Midland Hotel. The location is bustling with cars, busses and armed police, I fear that we may struggle to find a good spot to shoot but I know Alex always has something up his sleeve!
My time shooting with Alex is always the best, he makes me feel so at ease as we talk about anything from favourite sweets, to bad dates and everything in between. We wandered round Exchange Square with a mission to find the perfect angles and background, trying to dodge pedestrians in the background cluttering the shot.
For me Autumn is the best season, not just because it’s when my birthday is but also because it gives you the perfect opportunity to experiment with fashion. I look forward to pulling out my big jumpers, boots and fur coats in rich colours such as burgundy and mustard. I love looking through fashion magazines and in quirky shops to find unique pieces that compliment each other perfectly.
Alex managed to pull out the best qualities from my outfit by shooting my in front of The Midland, with its impressive facade and towering height. The subtle colours in the background accentuate the bright mustard colour in my Topshop Jacket and really makes the images come alive!
I had a blast today, even if it was only a short shoot, we knew what we wanted to achieve and we sure did that whilst managing to have the all important catch-up at the same time!
