My Kiehl's Skincare Consultation

My Welcome to Kiehls

I was warmly welcomed in store by the Kiehl’s team from York; Laura, David and Elysha.
I was invited to take part in a personalised skin consultation which aimed to analyse what Kiehl's products would best suit my complexion and skin needs.

Kiehl’s approach to service

When you visit Kiehl's, expect to receive a personalised consultation, complete with appropriate product recommendations and to help you find the optimum regimen for your individual skin and hair type, they let you sample some products too!

Kiehl's prides itself for its work with dermatologist’s in creating a more results driven range. The products are aimed at tackling skin problems such as pigmentation, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles.

Kiehl's skincare works to strengthen and protect your skins natural skin barrier for healthier, younger- looking skin. Kiehl's guarantees you see revitalised skin in 28 days, or you get your money back, this is a big claim so this makes me think they know what they are talking about!!

History of Kiehls

In 1851, Kiehls was founded as an old-world apothecary in New York City’s East village neighbourhood. Their unique, extensive background represents a blend of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, herbal and medicinal knowledge developed and passed down through the generations. This makes me trust the brand and believe what they are talking about! They are committed to offering the highest quality products and exceptional, personalised service, I saw this first hand from my amazing service in the York store. For more than 160 years, they have served our customers efficacious formulas for skin and hair developed with the most advanced technologies and rich in high concentrations of the finest natural ingredients.

The Skin Consultation Process

For the consultation, I sat down with the uber friendly and knowledgeable Elysha, who had been working with the brand for several years. She asked me to describe my skin, then proceeded to procure two dime-sized stickers that acted as "oil gauges" on my skin. She adhered one to my forehead (assessing my t-zone) and one to my cheek, and let them sit for about 30 seconds. After removing them, the saturation of the sticker (portions darkened by oil; gross, but cool!) determined just how oily my skin was.

This was about 3 hours post-morning face wash, and the stickers deemed my t-zone and cheeks to be Normal to OilyIt all sounded about right, though I know my cheeks definitely lead towards the more normal/oily side by later in the day. She also prompted me to identify my main skin care concerns, which  are to Diminish Acne and Increase Brightness and Reduce Uneven Skin ToneAfter discussing other factors like age and skin sensitivity, she generated a 9 step routine for me to follow. I was allowed to take samples away of the products she recommended so I could get a real sense for whether this range worked for me.

I have been using this 9 step routine for 10 days now and already see improvement. I am not just saying that either!

I have also got some exciting news that I will be hosting a blogger event in April at the Kiehl's store in York. I will be sharing more information on how to attend very soon, keep your eyes peeled!

Let me know whether you have tried out any products from Kiehl's, what do you think? Check out the website here.

Love Ciandra x
